Dr. Alan Levitt is a Florida Board Certified Optometric Physician in private
practice since 1981. He has been in full time practice at this same location
since 1984 providing personalized eye care to adults and children age 3 and
older. Our comprehensive eye care services include: :

Dr. Levitt is known for his thoroughness, patience, caring,
and dedication to providing all patients with state of the art eye care. Many
patients have remained under Dr. Levitt’s care for over 20 years.
Two staff
members (soon to be three) have been with the practice for over 15 years. Dr. Levitt and his staff are fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Levitt is proud to have patients
seeking his care from every part of Miami Dade and Broward counties and beyond:
numerous patients come from Kendall and the Florida Keys all the way north to
Port St. Lucie, Melbourne, and Cocoa Beach. Internationally, patients come from
Canada, Scotland, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Columbia, Venezuela,
Peru, and Argentina.
Dr. Levitt has been a very active
member of the Dade County Optometric Association, occupying every chair
including President in 1984-85. He recently left the Board of Trustees after a
second term as Vice President.
Dr. Levitt was a founder and past
president of the Dr. Bruce Heiken Memorial Fund, Inc., d.b.a. the Heiken
Children’s Vision Fund. This charitable foundation is the largest provider of
free eye care and eyeglasses to financially disadvantaged children in Greater
Miami since 1993. Over 30,000 children have received free eye care through the

Educational History:
Dr. Levitt graduated Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1981 where he was
awarded the Bausch & Lomb Outstanding Achievement Award in Contact Lenses and
was elected to the Gold Key National Optometric Honor Society for exemplary
service.
Dr. Levitt received his BS Magna Cum
Laude from State University of New York College of Environmental Science &
Forestry in 1976 and his AA with High Honors from Miami Dade Community College
North Campus in 1975.
Dr. Levitt is a 1973 graduate of
Miami Beach Senior High and is proud to have many of his classmates, a few
former teachers, and his former Principal as longstanding patients.
